What hurts more, the pain of hard work or the pain of regret?

Sendai is a quiet city compared to Tokyo where I lived and studied at a language school in Shinjuku for a year. Also, winters in Sendai are not as cold as that of my hometown in Shenyang, China; the summers here are also not as hot as Tokyo. There are also not as many typhoons and earthquakes in Sendai as there are in Tokyo, which makes this city a very suitable and comfortable place to live.

After graduating from the language school in Tokyo, I came to IDAC to be a research student at the Department of Gene Expression Regulation (DGER), where I am now a 1st year master’s student. Under the kind guidance of DGER teachers, I have mastered many experiments in the past six months. Although the course workload and pressure is not that high, there are still many skills I have to learn. Just like the motto of the NBA Boston Celtics: “What hurts more, the pain of hard work or the pain of regret?”, so, I enrich my life and do my best to work hard every day.
