Abstract Recent advances in smart textiles and flexible electronics have accelerated the development of next-generation wearable systems capable of seamlessly integrating with the human body for continuous and non-invasive health monitoring in daily life. This lecture will introduce recent developments in smart textiles and wearable healthcare technologies, with a particular focus on textile-integrated sensing and flexible electronic systems. Applications include musculoskeletal rehabilitation, physiological signal monitoring, mental health support, and healthcare solutions for ageing populations. The lecture will also discuss future opportunities for integrating smart textiles with artificial intelligence and data-driven healthcare approaches to support early diagnosis, personalized interventions, and remote healthcare delivery.
