Admissions
Those who wish to be postgraduate students of the Kawashima laboratory are asked to apply to Master’s Course, Medical Sciences or Doctoral Course, Medical Sciences of the Tohoku University. You have to choose the Department of Advanced Neuroscience in the application form.
In our laboratory, we carry out interdisciplinary and complex research on the human brain. In particular, we focus on the human brain. Students with any background can therefore pursue research according to their own interests. In our laboratory, there are many students and researchers who come from not only the field of medical science but various other backgrounds such as the life sciences, physics, mathematics, psychology, philosophy, engineering, information science, dentistry, pharmacy, pedagogy, and the arts.
Those qualified for the entrance examination are the following:

Graduate students who belong to other departments or universities can carry out their research in our laboratory for any period of time with their advisor(s) permission. Please consult with your advisor(s) in regards to this matter.
