抗感染症薬開発寄附研究部門

抗感染症薬の開発は、膨大な基礎データと臨床試験成績など多くの段階を経ることから、長期化するのが一般的です。当研究部門は、この内、前臨床試験よりは臨床試験の適正な実施に主眼をおいており、特に短期間での臨床開発を実現したいと考えておりますが、抗菌薬だけでなく抗インフルエンザ薬、抗結核薬、抗真菌薬、さらには各種ワクチンの開発を主体的に担うことを目的としています。1980年代のエイズなどを初めとする新興感染症の出現、多剤耐性菌による難治結核などの再興感染症の再増加がみられ1990年代にはMRSAや多剤耐性肺炎球菌の蔓延、2000年代に入るやエイズによる死者の増加（年に300万人以上）、多剤耐性緑膿菌、スーパー耐性結核菌の出現など薬剤耐性菌が社会的にも注目されてきています。感染症や耐性菌は発生現場からの拡大を抑えるだけでなく、発生そのものを抑えなければなりません。現場で封じ込めるよりも現場そのものを作らないことを目的とし、下記のテーマで感染症治療薬や予防薬の開発、並びに抗感染症薬開発を担う人材を育成することを目指しています。

  1. 医学・薬学における先端的創薬と開発、育薬に関する研究の推進と人材の開発
  2. 新規抗感染症薬の臨床試験並びに市販後臨床試験の適正化と国際標準化の推進
  3. 薬剤の特性に基づいた抗感染症薬の適正使用法の確立と臨床的研究の推進
  4. 院内感染の予防と薬剤耐性菌抑制の研究の推進並びにその成果の普及促進
  5. 人獣共通感染症研究の推進とバイオテロ対策の推進
  6. 抗インフルエンザウイルス薬開発・実用化の推進
  7. 薬剤耐性菌の基礎並びに臨床研究とその克服の推進
  8. 結核等慢性感染症の疫学対策と治療並びに予防の展望促進
