Mechanism of aging

Understand aging from the perspective of life changes – fertilization, growth, maturation and senescence.
Conduct research into the mechanisms of each of these life stages and how to fight diseases that occur with aging.

Overcoming intractable cancers

Elucidate the mechanism of carcinogenesis and the molecular targets of cancer, with the aim of subduing intractable cancers.

Overcoming age-related brain diseases

Clarify the significance of aging in the structure and function of the brain, and conduct research on preventing, and controlling age-related brain diseases such as dementia.

Realization of "smart aging"

Conduct research into the intellectual maturation of individuals and society by dealing wisely with the gradual changes related to aging in a super-aged population.
